(July 25, 2007) Emma Savage-Davis, ’95 Ed.D., has been elected to The Association of Teacher Educators’ (ATE) Board of Directors. Savage-Davis, director, Center, Education and Community, Coastal Carolina University, will join the board as College-University Representative.

The following biography appeared in the Spring 2007 ATE newsletter:

Emma Savage-Davis has ten years of teaching experience in an urban public school system; eleven years of higher education experience in the area of middle and secondary education; administrative experience as program coordinator and center director; experience in community outreach and school-based partnerships. She has served as a member of planning committees, ATE Governance Taskforce, Professional Journal Committee, Membership Committee, Leadership Academy and Yearbook XI Advisory Editorial Board, Multicultural and Middle Grades SIGs; contributed an article and served as a reviewer for Yearbook XI; presented at numerous conferences; NMSA SPA reviewer; and Schools to watch program reviewer.

Savage-Davis will officially join the board at the 2008 ATE Annual Meeting. The Association of Teacher Educators is an individual membership organization devoted solely to the improvement of teacher education both for school-based and post secondary teacher educators.
