Cap off Homecoming 2007 by being a part of the University’s Sesquicentennial Gala on Saturday, Oct. 13.  The special evening of celebration begins at 6 p.m. in the Bone Student Center Ballroom with dinner and entertainment.  Alumna Suzanne Douglas, an actress with television, movie and Broadway credits, will serve as emcee for the evening.  The talent of students, faculty and retirees will also be showcased, with some students dressed in costumes representing periods in Illinois State’s history.

A live and silent auction featuring items found only at Illinois State will be another highlight of the “red tie affair” designed to “Spread the Red” and benefit scholarships during the University’s anniversary year.  One of the live auction items will be a gourmet dinner for four prepared by President Al Bowman at the University Residence.  Another item will be a football party for 20 at the Kaufman Football Building for the 2008 football season.  Many of the silent auction items are art works from alumni and current and retired faculty.  The evening will conclude with a Jazz After Hours, with entertainment provided by the group Soft Spoken.

Reserve your seat today with the purchase of a $150 ticket, a portion of which is tax deductible.  Funds raised through the gala will benefit several scholarships, including the Bowman Fellows, Bone Scholars, President Scholars and the Olamide E. Adeyooye Memorial Scholarship.
