Illinois State University will dedicate its first Alumni Center on Friday, July 25, at 8:30 a.m. After the dedication, the Board of Trustees will hold their July meeting at the Alumni Center.

Starting with the Illinois State University Board of Trustees’ approval to lease property from the Foundation’s limited liability corporations in October 2006, the Alumni Center has been a process of cooperation between private and public entities. The construction to renovate the exterior and interior of the building began in August of 2007. The floor plan moved from a wide open space to six suites of offices, conference rooms and a remarkable Great Hall with a fireplace and comfortable seating areas. The new Alumni Center will house the majority of University Advancement as well as Conference Services. Located near the exit from Interstate 55, the Alumni Center will be one of the first buildings seen on the Main Street Corridor for commuters to Bloomington-Normal.

Alumni and friends should plan to attend the Red Carpet Unveiling of Illinois State University’s first Alumni Center at a black-tie-optional event featuring great food and entertainment on Saturday, Oct. 18, during Homecoming week.
