To kick off the second year of “Reggie’s Kids Club,” the Illinois State Athletics department will be implementing a referral program for new club members.

Prizes ranging from a private pizza party to a season-ticket package for the 2008-09 Redbird women’s basketball campaign will be offered as membership incentives. “Reggie’s Kids Club” is intended for kids 12 years old and younger, and membership is good for one year, beginning July 1, 2008.

“Starting the Reggie’s Kid’s Club last year was a great success and addition to Redbird Athletics,” said Brad Ledford, assistant athletics director, Marketing and Promotions. “The energy and excitement that members brought to events was second to none. This year, we’re looking for more young fans to help cheer on the Redbirds and asking current members to utilize the referral program. We want to encourage all of their friends and classmates to help Spread the Red this season.”

The referral program is open to current and new members. If a current Kids Club member receives one referral, he or she will be entered into a drawing for a private pizza party for up to 25 guests with Reggie Redbird. The party will be held in the Redbird Room in the basement of Redbird Arena prior to an ISU women’s basketball game.

For five referrals, Kids Club members will receive a concession prize pack, full of coupons, worth $25. Coupons can be redeemed at any ISU athletic event where concessions are sold. For a current member that successfully refers 10 new members, he or she will receive a women’s basketball family season-ticket package and will be entered into a drawing to win a $100 gift certificate to Alamo II. Only one name is allowed, and referrals from new members will only be counted, with siblings being counted separately. The deadline for the referral program is Oct. 31.

Reggie’s Kids Club renewals are also being accepted through the Redbird Athletic Ticket Office, or on GoRedbirds.com, by clicking on the Reggie’s Kids Club.

Membership items for 2008-09 may be picked up at the Redbird Athletic Ticket Office during normal business hours. For more information, call the ticket office at (309) 438-8000, or e-mail ISU Marketing Assistant Shannon Anderson.
