The 32nd season of the Illinois Shakespeare Festival will feature the magical comedy and romance of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” a new madcap adaptation of Moliere’s “Scapin” and the diabolical historical play “Richard III.”

The festival opens with the first two productions June 25 and 26, respectively, with “Richard III” opening July 16. The festival runs through Aug. 9 at the 450-seat, open-air theatre on the grounds of Ewing Manor in Bloomington.

Ticket subscriptions for the festival can be purchased at the Center for the Performing Arts box office on campus from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, by phone at (309) 438-2535 or 866-IL-SHAKE or on line at thefestival.org or Ticketmaster.com

Deb Alley, the festival artistic director, will direct “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” Chicago director Karen Kessler returns to the festival to direct “Scapin” and Henry Woronicz, the newest School of Theatre faculty member and guest director of the festival’s 2006 production of “Pericles,” will direct “Richard III.”
