The competitive season is coming to a close, which has Redbirds looking ahead to golf outing season. ISU Athletics will host two essential fundraising events this summer.
The Redbird Golf Outing
The Redbird Golf Outing on June 7 will be presented by Jim and Carole Mounier at Rockford’s Mauh-Nah-Tee-See Club. The event will be hosted by ISU Athletics and The Redbird Club as part of the Spread the Red caravans.
Redbird supporters, Illinois State alumni, coaches, and student-athletes will take part in the festivities, beginning with registration at the course at 11 a.m. A lunch buffet will be served at 11:30 a.m., with the shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. The event is limited to 144 entrants. Cost to play is $125 per person, with $35 for any additional dinner guests. The dinner and awards will follow golf. The meal will be a choice of prime rib, vegetable lasagna, or orange ruffy. Two drink tickets are included with the entry fee.
Annual Redbird Golf Classic
The second event is the Annual Redbird Golf Classic on June 11, presented by Dr. Pegg ImPACT at Illinois State’s Weibring Golf Club. The event begins with sign-in and a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. The four-person scramble will have a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m.
A catered dinner and guest speakers will follow, with prizes awarded. Registration cost is $150 per player, or $600 for a team of four. Flag and tee sponsorships are also available.
Monies collected from the Redbird Golf Classic go directly into The Redbird Club, which funds the scholarships of all 400-plus Illinois State student-athletes. Reservation forms for either event can be found online at GoRedbirds.com or call (309) 438-3803.
