The scope of student, faculty, and alumni talent within the College of Fine Arts will be showcased in the months ahead as the college marks its 40th anniversary. More than 400 performances are planned throughout the celebration year, which began this summer and will continue through the spring of 2011.

Alumni are invited to participate and will have an active role in many of the events, including a University Galleries art show exhibiting the work of graduates for one month. The exhibit will open September 18 with a reception for all participating artists.

All School of Art alumni are invited to submit one artwork in any medium, including digital or video art. All art must be no more than 20 inches in any dimension and will be displayed as received, either on a wall or a pedestal.

Entries must be received by August 25, with the artist responsible for shipping the work to Illinois State via UPS or FedEx. The artwork will be returned via UPS at the University’s expense. Other anniversary year events include an alumni commissioned-works concert is slated for October, with an alumni film festival planned during the week of Homecoming. The first College of Fine Arts Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held Homecoming weekend, as well as a gala that focuses on the college. The School of Music is also planning commissions of alumni work and a band auction.
