The Illinois State University Board of Trustees today approved the academic plan and renewal of athletics insurance.
The Illinois State University Academic Plan, 2010-2015, includes the University Mission Statement, Board of Trustees Vision Statement for 2014, college mission statements and objectives, curriculum initiatives, Educating Illinois 2008-2014: Priorities for Illinois’ First Public University and summaries for the 2009-10 program reviews. The academic plan lists institutional priorities, including the feasibility of a bachelor’s degree in molecular and cellular biology and an off-campus MBA program in Chicago.
Illinois State Intercollegiate Athletics will contract with Aetna Student Health insurance for the 2010-11 year at a cost not to exceed $520,000. Aetna also provides the general student health insurance for Illinois State students. The athletics insurance will cover injuries occurring during practice, conditioning or competition for student athletes and cheerleaders as well as injuries occurring during travel to and from competitions.
