The ISU/EDC Business Incubator will host a free “So You Want to Start Your Own Business?” seminar on Thursday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m. in the community room of the Heartland Bank building in Uptown Normal. The seminar will include a presentation on business incubator services by Larry Maschhoff, manager of the new ISU/EDC Business Incubator. Kelly Mathy, owner of Kelly’s Bakery in Bloomington, and Andy Scott, owner of Energistics: High Performance Energy Efficient Home Solutions, will discuss their experiences of starting and operating small businesses and provide insight and advice for aspiring entrepreneurs.

The ISU/EDC Business Incubator is a joint initiative of Illinois State University and the Economic Development Council of the Bloomington-Normal Area. The Business Incubator seeks to encourage local economic development by assisting a wide variety of early stage companies and entrepreneurs to grow and mature through direct assistance, consultation and management development support programs.
