Nursing Tailgates
Linda Meints Cooper, president-elect for the Mennonite Nurses Alumni Organization (MNAO), is an avid Redbird fan. She decided to coordinate MNAO Tailgates for some of the Illinois State football games.
They kicked off the first home football game with a Nursing Tailgate on September 2. “Anyone can stop by our tailgate, and we encourage MCN alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends to join us,” said Cooper. “Our tailgating spot is #46 in the Illinois State tailgating zone. Look for the big red MCN banner!”
Future MNAO tailgates will be held on October 2, November 6 and November 13. The MNAO tailgate will start two hours before game time. Cooper added, “We hope to see old friend and make new friends at these events. These tailgates are potlucks, so bring something to share or just stop by to visit. Go Redbirds!”
MCN 2010 Homecoming Events
The Mennonite Nurses Alumni Organization (MNAO), Mennonite College of Nursing (MCN),and Student Nurses Association (SNA) invite you to “Roll out the Red” with us at the following events on Saturday, October 16:
- 8:30 a.m. “Donuts with the Deans” open house, Edwards Hall
- 9:30 a.m. Illinois State University Homecoming Parade
- 11 a.m. MNAO/MCN/SNA tailgate, Redbird Tent Zone
- 2 p.m. Football Game: Illinois State vs. North Dakota State
The Open House and Tailgate are free of charge, however, in order to accommodate the appropriate number of refreshments, please register by Wednesday, October 6, at www.alumni.ilstu.edu/mcn, or call Amy Irving at (309) 438-7418.
There will be a limited number of complimentary tickets to the football game in the reserved section at Hancock Stadium. Tickets will be distributed at the tailgate, and MCN alumni will have priority to these tickets on a first-come, first-served basis from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. If additional tickets are available after 12:30 p.m., they will be given to other guests at the tailgate.
