Countertenor Daniel Schuetz, an Illinois State University assistant professor of voice, will be the featured performer in the free chamber recital “Giulio Cesare and more” on Sunday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. in Kemp Recital Hall. The performance is part of the Charles W. Bolen Faculty Recital Series.

Schuetz will perform “Erbarme dich” from J.S. Bach’s Matthäus-Passion, “Come all ye songsters” from The Fairy Queen by Henry Purcell, the Benjamin Britten arrangement of Purcell’s “An Evening Hymn” from Harmonia Sacra, “Plus j’observe ces lieux” from Armide by Jean-Baptiste Lully, Pur ti miro” from Claudio Monteverdi’s L’Incoronazione di Poppea, and selections from G.F. Handel’s opera Giulio Cesare in Egitto (Julius Caesar in Egypt).

Schuetz will be accompanied by School of Music faculty members Paul Borg, harpsichord, Michelle Vought, soprano, and a student chamber music ensemble.
