Sport marketing guru Mike Veeck will be the keynote speaker at Illinois State University’s Sport Management Symposium on Friday, Feb. 11, at the University’s Alumni Center. The symposium will also include panel discussions on sport management and business topics, lunch and an internship fair for students.

The Sport Management Symposium will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is targeted at individuals interested or currently working in the business of sports, but is also open to the general public. Cost for the symposium is $20 for early registration and $30 on the day of the event. Mike Veeck has earned national acclaim as an innovative and highly successful minor league baseball team owner and marketer. He has also worked in the front office of several Major League Baseball teams, is a best-selling author, has appeared on numerous national television programs and was named by Baseball America as one of the 25 most influential people in baseball over the past 25 years.
