Illinois State University’s Pride organization will have a display on the Quad Friday, April 15, on National Day of Silence, a day when hundreds of thousands of students nationwide take a vow of silence to bring attention to anti-LGBT name-calling, bullying and harassment in schools.

Sponsored by the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), the National Day is a tool for change, both personally and community-wide. GLSEN is the nation’s leading education organization working to assure that each member of every school community is valued and respected regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
