It was with great sadness that we learned of the recent passing of long-time College of Business faculty member Caroline Craig.  In the campus community, Craig will be remembered as an outstanding professor in the Department of Accounting.

“I always knew Caroline to be an excellent teacher and strong researcher, but I did not fully appreciate her contributions to the department until I assumed the role of interim chair,” said Gerry McKean. “ There has been and will continue to be a large void left by her absence. Her critical thinking abilities, preparation, attention to detail, thoroughness, and just plain “smarts” will be missed,” he added.

During her illness, Craig continued to perform tax research, publish articles, and answer complex tax questions from former students. She deeply valued the students she taught and will be missed by colleagues, alumni, external partners, and students.

Craig chose a private memorial service to celebrate her life. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Student Accounting Society at Illinois State University by contacting the department at (309) 438-7651.
