Is five minutes enough time to impress an employer?

Spend the afternoon with area business employers and the Illinois State University Career Center Chicago Office to find out how to effectively sell your skills and incorporate networking into your job search.  In addition, alums will have the opportunity to meet with Career Center advising staff for a resume critique, interview advice, or a mock interview.

Here’s how it will work — This social networking mixer will be held from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m., with a light lunch and dessert, followed by resume critiques and interview advice from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.  With a speed networking format, employers will rotate tables and meet with alums to explain current job openings, share criteria organizations look for in resumes and cover letters, and what makes employers say “yes” to an interview. A question and answer session will also take place for employers and alums.  This is a great opportunity to network and gain some insight into your own job search.
