Leaders of Social Change (LoSC), formerly known as the Civil Rights Movement Trip, challenges students to explore various social justice issues such as race, gender, sexuality, and disabilities, and identify ways they can make a difference in their community.

From January 11 to January 15, 2012, LoSC participants travel off-campus and tour a nationally known museum, participate in a community service project, learn from current activists, and reflect on their experiences to develop their own philosophy and approach to leadership.

“LoSC is one of the best experiences that I have had since being at Illinois State University,” said Tanika Richardson, an elementary education major who attended a LoSC trip to Memphis.
