Mark Babbitt, associate professor of trombone in Illinois State University’s School of Music, will present a free recital on Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 8 p.m. in Kemp Recital Hall. The performance is part of the Charles W. Bolen Faculty Recital Series.

Babbitt will perform Sonata in A minor by Benedetto Marcello, Dreams, Yearning by Jonathan Craft, Chorale, Cadence et Fugato by Henri Dutilleux, Steven Verhelst’s A Song for Japan (trombone trio) and Concerto by Launy Grøndahl.

Babbitt will be joined by pianist Karyl Carlson, director of choirs at Illinois State, and trombonists Stephen Parsons, director of the School of Music, and Timothy Pitchford, director of jazz at Illinois Wesleyan University.
