Congratulations are in order to Elizabeth Flores, Senior  Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management major, for winning recognition by the prestigious Lincoln Academy!

Illinois State University senior Elizabeth Flores has been named a Lincoln Student Laureate by the Lincoln Academy of Illinois. She will be honored as an outstanding college student during the annual Student Laureate Convocation held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, in the Hall of Representatives, Old State Capitol, Springfield.

Flores, a native of Berwyn, has received numerous honors from her time at Illinois State. She was named a University Scholar and a recipient of the Caterpillar Excellence Fund. She also won the Junior Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award in 2010. A major in entrepreneurship and small business management, Flores is a member of the Honors Program and was inducted into the honorary business fraternity Beta Gamma Sigma in 2010.

“Elizabeth is a multi-talented and academically motivated student,” said University President Al Bowman, who nominated Flores for the honor. “She is engaged as a student and is a leader on campus.”

Flores serves as vice president of Alpha Psi Lambda and vice president of communications for the Collegiate Entrepreneurship Organization.  She is also a member of the Association of Latin American Students.

At the Student Laureate Convocation, Flores will receive a Student Laureate Medallion, along with an honorarium check and certificate of achievement.
