Entrepreneur Alexandra Mysoor, co-founder of the online retail site Generation Orange, will be the featured speaker in the Extreme Entrepreneurship Virtual Speaker Series on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 4:30 p.m. in the State Farm Hall of Business room 357. Mysoor will present Starting an E-commerce Company and will answer audience questions submitted via text during the live broadcast. The event is free and open to the public.

The Virtual Speaker Series, sponsored by Illinois State University’s George R. and Martha Means Center for Entrepreneurial Studies and the ISU CEO club, features top entrepreneurs who are still in the 20’s. Mysoor started her first company, a public relations agency, at the age of 24. The company had $1 million in revenue within the first 18 months. Her new company, Generation Orange, is an online retail site that sells natural products with minimal environmental impact.

At 6:15 p.m. following Mysoor’s presentation, local e-business owners Cary Walmsley, an eBay super-seller, and Randy Kull, owner of The Traffic Sign Store, will speak about their experiences as business owners and will answer audience questions. The local entrepreneur panel is sponsored by The Center for Emerging Entrepreneurs.

“Virtual speakers can offer more content than an average speaker because for the price of one speaker, you can have ten virtually,” said Doan Winkel, assistant professor in Management and Quantitative Methods. “Also, the audience members are able to ask questions to the speaker via text which is more in-tune with the world we live in.”
