Normal has showed their support of Illinois State University through painting Redbird heads on the streets, placing red and white lights on the trees in Uptown Normal, and displaying Illinois State University banners. These outward shows of pride show community members and visitors that the town is a committed supporter of Illinois State.

“The Town of Normal has been showing their Redbird Pride for years. Normal and the University collaborate together on many issues and projects,” said Mike O’Grady, chair of the Redbird Pride Committee. “This recognition is just one small way we can thank the town and their staff for all they do to show that Redbird Pride.”

The Redbird Pride Awards recognize extraordinary support for Illinois State University by individuals or local businesses. Awardees are selected by the Redbird Pride Committee, a group of individuals from businesses and organizations and community leaders. Learn more at RedbirdPride.org.
