Stories about women in the military are being sought by the staff at Milner Library for a special project called Illinois Women’s Military and Civilian Memorial.
Information collected will be used to establish a registry of Illinois women who served from the Civil War to the present. Illinois historical records about these women are nonexistent.
Women who are serving or have served in the military are encouraged to share their stories. Those who had a family member who served or know of women who have served are also needed.
