On the same day that the Illinois State football team hosts Dayton in the season opener, the Redbird volleyball team will host a pair of tough teams in Miami and Oregon State at the Redbird Classic at Redbird Arena.
Illinois State will open play in the four-team tournament Friday, August 31, against Presbyterian before playing a double-header against the two BCS opponents Saturday, September 1. The Redbirds will face off against the Hurricanes at 10 a.m. that morning, before taking a break facing the Beavers at 7 p.m.
Fans wanting to catch both volleyball games and the football game are encouraged to call the Illinois State Athletics Ticket Office at (309) 438-8000 to secure seats for all three events.
