Stephen Wasby, a judicial scholar, will give a talk titled “The U.S. Courts of Appeals: The Courts Nobody Knows” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, in the Brown Ballroom of the Bone Student Center at Illinois State University.

Sponsored by Criminal Justice Sciences, the talk is free and open to the public.

Wasby, a professor emeritus from State Universities of New York – Albany, researches the federal courts and the role of interest groups in litigation. He is engaged in a long-term project on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. The author of a number of books, including The Supreme Court in the Federal Judicial System and Race Relations Litigation in an Age of Complexity, Wasby has also published articles in social science journals and law reviews.
