The fourth annual Redbird Recipe Contest winners were announced this month.

Four finalists—two in each category, Main/Side Dish and Desserts/Sweets—were named, and three of them are Illinois State alumni with the fourth being a current student. The finalists’ recipes were featured during Homecoming week, and dining center guests voted for their favorites.

Receiving first-place prizes in their respective categories were Kristen Paul ’04 for her lemon basil shrimp fettuccine recipe, and Phil Tripp ’75, ’77 for his ISU coffee cake.

The other finalists were Susan (Hovey) Walters ’77, M.S. ’84 for her Caribbean chicken with black bean salsa and Cassie Wells, a biology student, for her “better than everything cake.”
