Women looking for a fashionable way to sport their Redbird pride at the office or after hours are invited to a special on-campus showing of a new Illinois State clothing line.

The inaugural Illinois State University Women’s Apparel Trunk Show is set for February 5 at the Alumni Center. Alumni, faculty, staff, students, and fans can browse the entire collection and try on apparel, and then place orders with either an embroidered Illinois State University or Redbird logo. Orders can be picked up on campus at Barnes and Noble Bookstore about two weeks later—in time for any Redbird fans making the trek to the St. Louis area for the Missouri Valley Conference basketball tournaments.

What: Illinois State University Women’s Apparel Trunk Show
When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. February 5
Where: Alumni Center, Room 116, 1101 N. Main St., Normal, IL 61761

Women already have their own Illinois State hoodies, T-shirts, and polo shirts, among other items, but there is demand for a line of apparel designed specifically for professional women, said University Director of Trademark and Licensing R.C. McBride.

“This is an opportunity to see a lot of items that have never been available before,” McBride said.

The Trunk Show will feature sweaters, vests, casual wear, and other attire, from Oxford Industries, known for such brands as Lilly Pulitzer and Tommy Bahama. Oxford Golf and Oxford America items will be part of the collection. Some men’s attire will also be available.
