The Bloomington-Normal Marriott Hotel and Conference Center has received a Redbird Pride Award for its efforts to promote Redbird spirit in the community.

The Marriott has shown support for the University through custom shirts emblazoned with the Redbird logo, decorating trees in front of the hotel with red and white lights, featuring special drinks in conjunction with ISU events, and providing internships for students. The Marriott Hotel and Conference Center also regularly hosts families and dignitaries visiting campus.

“It’s not about what we can take from the community, it’s what we can give in partnership with the school,” said Brent Parker, assistant general manager of the Bloomington-Normal Marriott Hotel and Conference Center. “Our Redbird pride efforts help engage our staff in the campus and community. It is something unique, and that piece alone energizes them.”

The Redbird Pride Awards recognize extraordinary support for Illinois State University by individuals or local businesses. Awardees are selected by the Redbird Pride Committee, a group of individuals from businesses and organizations and community leaders. Learn more at RedbirdPride.org.
