Janet (Bressner Barnard) Kilgus ’70, M.S. ’77, has been elected to a three-year term as chair of the Illinois Education Association-Retired. She serves as president of the organization, which has nearly 10,000 members and is part of the IEA. She resides in Fairbury.
Sheila (Hassler) Scruggs ’71 has retired from her position as assistant director of Athletics at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She resides there with her huband, Kirk.
Jim Carroll ’73 has sold real estate in the Denver area for 29 years and is an owner of a Keller Williams Franchise. He ranks in the top 1 percent of all real estate agents in the U.S. for his annual sales. He and his wife, Kathryn, and daughter have a team that specializes in residential, relocation and investment properties. They reside in Arvada, Colorado.
Rodney Frey, M.A. ’73, has retired as Bethel College registrar after more than 40 years at the school as a student and faculty member. He resides in North Newton, Kansas.
Loretta (Smith) Allen ’74 has retired from her position as an administrative secretary at the University of Illinois-Chicago. She resides in Chicago.
Debra Bryan ’74 has retired but still works part-time as a special education teacher specializing in autism. She resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
Stan Fitzanko ’74, M.S. ’89, has retired after more than 30 years in education. He most recently served as principal of L.E. Starke Primary School in Pekin Grade School District 108. He previously served as a gym teacher, coach and principal at the junior high level. He and his wife, Amy, reside in Dunlap.
Ann (Dunham) Naretto ’74 has retired after 32 years of teaching, including 20 years spent at St. Paul Grade School. She and her husband, Alan, are the parents of two sons and have three grandchildren. The couple resides in Odell.
Jim Cozzolino ’75 has retired as athletic director at Lanphier High School. He has coached high school football, wrestling and baseball, and Knox College football. He resides in Springfield.
Joyce (Koelper) Allen ’76 is a part-time bank teller at First Farmers State Bank in Delavan, where she and her husband, Edward, reside.
Steven Morgan ’76 completed the requirements for an M.B.A. from Strayer University with a concentration in hospitality/tourism. He resides in Newport News, Virginia.
Don Alger ’77 has worked as a senior account manager for Eastman Kodak. He is now a digital equipment specialist for the Southeast Region of Nazdar SourceOne, which is based in Chicago.
Mark Kalkwarf ’77 is an industrial monitoring manager with Severn Trent Environmental Services. He resides in Bluff City, Tennessee.
Rick Stasi ’77 has 35 years of experience in the insurance and alternative risk market. He had served as COO of alternative risk at Avizent. The company was acquired by York Risk Services Group. Stasi is now is president of the alternative risk solutions division for York, headquartered in New Jersey.
Kathleen Fern ’78 is the director of Alumni Relations at Ranken Technical College in the St. Louis area. She resides in Columbia, Missouri.
Lorraine McCallister ’78 has retired after 34 years of teaching language arts to middle school students in Prophetstown-Lyndon-Tampico CUSD #3. She resides in Ottawa.
Mark S. Robinson ’78, M.S. ’86, is Unit 5 principal at Fox Creek Elementary School, which was a U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon School in 2007 and has been named to the Illinois State Board of Education Honor Roll as a Spotlight Award recipient. He and his wife, Jo Lynn, reside in Bloomington.
David Schroat, M.S. ’78, completed his doctorate in clinical psychology at the University of Detroit-Mercy. He has been the director of counseling and disability services for 15 years at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, where he teaches psychology. He resides in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Scott Sprague ’78 is the chief operating officer of Asia Broadcast Satellite, one of the world’s fastest growing satellite operators. He resides in Geneva.
William Allison ’79 is the global leader of Deloitte Consulting’s Technology practice, which consists of nearly 23,000 people in more than 40 countries. Deloitte is the world’s largest professional services firm, with approximately 170,000 people globally. He and his wife, Mary, are the parents of a daughter and reside in Southern California.
Terry Delaney ’79 has 30 years of public accounting experience. He is managing partner of Widmer Roel PC in North Dakota. He is past president of the North Dakota Society of CPAs. He resides in Fargo, North Dakota.
Dick Ganschow ’79 is chief of police for East Peoria. He previously served as Tazewell County chief deputy sheriff, retiring in 2010. He resides in Pekin.
Paula Knopp ’79, M.S. ’88, is an associate professor of social and behavioral sciences and coordinator of global studies at Lincoln College. She is also cochair of the self-study for reaccreditation. She was named the 2012 Jack D. Nutt Educator of the Year. She and her husband, Richard, reside in Lincoln.
Walt Smith ’79 retired from the Decatur Boys & Girls Club after serving as executive director 30 years, during which time attendance soared. He and his wife, Ingrid, reside in Decatur.
