The first week of June will feature the final Friends of the Arts Gallery Gallop until the fall and the opening receptions for two shows in downtown Bloomington of work by artists with Illinois State University ties.

• Wednesday, June 5—This Friends of the Arts Gallery Gallop, set for 5:30 p.m. at Universities Galleries, and will be a viewing of the T.E.A.M. (Teen Education and Art Mentors) exhibition Full Circle, a yearlong collaboration between Illinois State University and regional high schools. Through the collaboration, T.E.A.M. participants were introduced to contemporary art exhibitions presented at University Galleries and then created artworks of their own invention using a variety of media and techniques. The exhibition is running through July 27.

• Friday, June 7—The Grey Dove Gallery, in downtown Bloomington, will hold an opening reception from 4–9 p.m. for an exhibit featuring husband and wife team Harry Sidebotham and Erin Elizabeth, both students in Illinois State’s M.F.A. program. Elizabeth is a conceptual artist and has exhibited her works in Chicago, Massachusetts, and Colorado. Sidebotham’s work has developed from the languages of systems, op art, and figuration. His paintings have been featured in New American Paintings, and he has exhibited in Bloomington-Normal and Chicago. The exhibit will be open through July 2.

• Friday, June 7—Heavy Brow Gallery, in downtown Bloomington, will host an opening from 7–10 p.m. for an exhibition titled Stacks that features the work of painter and Illinois State alum Jeff Robinson, M.F.A. ’11. Robinson is currently an instructor of art and director of the Visual Arts Gallery at the University of Illinois Springfield. The show will run through July 26.
