Since 1980, the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) Chicago’s social and economic development programs and organizations have served as valuable resources for improving the conditions of less-advantaged people and communities across the city.

The College of Education’s Chicago Teacher Education Pipeline formed a partnership with LISC Chicago in 2004 that has been integral to the success of Illinois State’s urban teacher preparation model, which continues to grow and gain national acclaim.
