The recent cool weather brought a touch of September to summer break.  But if that wasn’t enough to turn your thoughts toward the upcoming semester, just take a look at the calendar.  The official start of classes is just three weeks from today!

You don’t have to put away the shorts and flip-flops just yet, of course, but you don’t want the new semester to sneak up on you, either.  That’s why the team at the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology will once again offer a cool, casual week of workshops, consultations, and tech support to help you start the new school year the right way.

Faculty Prep Week runs from August 12 – 16.  If you have a question about setting up or using ReggieNet this fall, this is a great time to get help.  We’re offering short workshops, one-on-one consultations, and phone and email tech support all week.  We’re also holding sessions to introduce new faculty to campus resources like their ULIDs, network storage, personal web space, class rosters, and other technologies available to enhance their teaching.  Our staff of experts is also available to consult with you on classroom strategies, like how to enhance student writing, group work, or assess learning outcomes in our upcoming courses.

Sessions during Faculty Prep Week are short, sweet, and to the point— in other words, never more than two hours long. You can even come in those aforementioned shorts and flip-flops. Plus, for most sessions, there’s no advance registration—just walk in and learn!  We do recommend you show up a few minutes early for sessions.  Faculty Prep Week is held at our facility in the ITDC Building, located at 301 S. Main Street.

You can find a complete schedule for Faculty Prep Week on our website.  If you have questions, send them to us at CTLT@ilstu.edu.
