The Orientation Revitalization Project Team is working in response to a recommendation by the Division of Finance and Planning’s Strategic Plan Organizational and Staff Development Working Group.
This new team builds upon the planning and preparation done by the working group to implement the ideas presented in their report. The result will be the agenda, materials, and tools needed for a new orientation session or schedule of sessions. A revitalized orientation will be implemented in January 2014.
To date, the team has:
— Reviewed materials from other universities, including videotapes.
— Conducted a focus group of key administrative staff.
— Explored and reviewed orientation checklists and tools.
The team’s future plans include revision of the orientation videotape, two additional focus groups, and creation of tools and checklists to assist new employees and the hiring department.
