Illinois State University has reached an agreement with Comcast SportsNet Chicago, whose regional television base reaches 4.9 million homes, to show four Redbird football games this season.

Comcast SportsNet, which is the television home for the most comprehensive coverage of the Chicago Blackhawks, Bulls, Cubs and White Sox, is available on most cable outlets in Illinois, as well as DirectTV and Dish Network. Redbird fans who receive Comcast SportsNet will be able to see home games against Western Illinois (October 5) and Northern Iowa (November 2) and road games at Youngstown State (October 12) and Southern Illinois (November 16).

The game at Youngstown State will be aired live on Comcast SportsNet Chicago Plus and produced by MyYTV in Youngstown. Thanks to an agreement with Youngstown State and Illinois State’s partnership with Comcast SportsNet Chicago, the game will be seen throughout Illinois on the station’s alternate channel.

Niles Media Group has been contracted to produce the other three telecasts and will continue to serve as the television production partner for Illinois State Athletics. Last season, Niles produced 10 broadcasts for Illinois State that aired on CSN Chicago, including four Redbird football contests.

For channel information, click on the In Depth tab on the football page at GoRedbirds.com and select the CSN Chicago Channel Finder link. Once there, type in the ZIP code where the broadcast will be watched, and a complete channel listing will appear for cable and satellite providers in that area.
