A letter from Illinois State’s new budget director, Sandra Cavi:

Stepping into the leadership role for the Budget Office is a responsibility I relish. My 24-year career at Illinois State began in the Office of the Provost, took me to Human Resources, and then to the Budget Office. In the course of those years, I completed two master’s degrees and raised a family. Not to be overlooked in importance are the Illinois State friends I’ve made along the way.

To the benefit of campus, the Budget Office was successful under the leadership of Barb Blake, a true mentor to me. In keeping with the schedule of our office, the first two months of my tenure have been filled with preparation of our Fiscal Year 2015 budget request. As expected of any office, we will be reflecting on what can be improved and through time will set goals for changes, enhancements, staffing, and outreach.

Our office is here to help you achieve your goals. Please contact any of our team members for assistance:

  • Pat Brush: Help with hiring requests, transfers, and general assistance.
  • Vicki Cooley: Help with Budget Wizard, personnel expenditures, funding positions, hiring requests and general assistance.
  • Gary Wilson: Help with operating account concerns, particularly agency accounts.

Warm regards,

Sandy Cavi
