If you are seeking to get the inside scoop on how to be successful in the workplace from experienced professional women or to expand your professional network, attend the Career Center’s Secrets of Professional Women event from 7:30–9 p.m. April 8 in the Prairie Room at the Bone Student Center.
This event will be held on Equal Pay Day, which brings attention to the fact that women make 77 cents to every dollar earned by men.
Get the chance to hear Barbara L. Yong, state president of the Federation of Business Women’s Clubs and wage project liaison, discuss the wage gap and Equal Rights Amendment. Then, join with a panel of both young and mid-level professionals to discuss the challenges women face in the workplace today and get helpful secrets specifically for young women beginning their career journey.
Afterward, enjoy light refreshments as you meet professional women who you will be able to network with now and in the future.
