Update (April 15, 2014): Winners are posted below!

Illinois State students can share what makes them proud to be a Redbird in a first-of-its-kind social media contest powered by Instagram and Vine videos.

Starting Monday, March 24, students can enter the contest by creating and sharing Instagram or Vine videos that answer this question: What makes you #RedbirdProud? All entries must be tagged #RedbirdProud, and students are encouraged to show—not just tell—their favorite spots on campus that make them proud.

Three top prizes will be awarded, including the grand prize—a $100 gift card for TechZone. All videos also have a chance to be featured in an upcoming Illinois State TV or online promotional spot.

“The #RedbirdProud hashtag is already popular among our alumni, so we wanted to bring our students into the conversation,” said Ryan Denham, a social media manager in University Marketing and Communications. “Every student has their own reason for being a Redbird, and this is their chance to share that pride in Illinois State in a creative way that’s all their own.”

To be eligible, Illinois State students must share their videos (up to 15 seconds on Instagram, and 6 seconds on Vine) between March 24 and April 6.

The contest is sponsored by University Marketing and Communications.
