Engineering technology students Randy Valencia, Brendan Wiesner, Cole Berglind, Steven Ott, Nick Reichman, Jeremy Wooldridge, Justin Sexton, Nick DiJoseph, and Blake Mitchell, and Associate Professor Lou Reifschneider toured the Bridgestone Firestone plant in Normal April 16.

The facility manufactures some of the largest off-road tires in the world. The strongest tire made in the world is made there for the largest truck in the world: the Caterpillar 797. The plant was featured in Modern Marvels a few years ago because it makes this tire. Several engineering technology students are currently interns at this Bridgestone Americas plant, which is located on Fort Jesse Road.
