As of July 1, 2014, Illinois State University will begin using an upgraded Cayuse SP (Sponsored Projects) system for internal routing of grant (and related) proposals.

This upgrade will provide more information and access for investigators not only through development, approval, and submission of the proposal but also through the lifetime of the grant award. It has a less linear routing system that should result in a faster, more convenient approval process. It will replace many of the internal forms that are currently completed as Word documents as well as other activities, such as contingency funding requests.

The upgraded system will be the file of record for all grants, so investigators and administrators will have 24/7 access to proposal documents, grant agreements, approval letters, and the other documents related to the award.

As of July 1, 2014, all proposal submissions will be started and routed for internal approval in Cayuse SP. Federal proposals will continue to use Cayuse 424 for system-to-system federal agency submissions. All other proposals will be submitted as usual (website, email, mail, etc.).

If you plan to submit a grant proposal in July, please contact Research and Sponsored Programs (RSP) for training. RSP can get you into Cayuse SP to start working on your proposal (but not routing for approval) before July 1. In developing your proposal, please plan to allow extra time for becoming familiar with the upgraded system as well as for any problems that may arise from the transition.
