Department of Technology chair Theodore Branoff was presented with the Distinguished Service Award of the Engineering Design Graphics Division of the American Society for Engineering Education on June 17.

Branoff was selected for this honor by his colleagues. The award was in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the Engineering Design Graphics Division and to engineering education. It is the highest award that can be presented by the division to one of its members and is a symbol of appreciation.

Branoff is a highly respected leader at the state, national, and international levels for his work on curriculum for secondary education, his research in visual capabilities, and his work in 3D-modeling, instructional design, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. He has served as chair of the division, reviewer for the EDGD Journal and associate editor of the EDGD Journal. Branoff also served as program chair for the division and as the president of the International Society for Geometry and Graphics.

Over his 27-year career, Branoff has demonstrated extraordinary dedication and innovation as a teacher, and has contributed to both student and professional organizations and honor societies. He has published numerous articles in the EDGD Journal, and authored a textbook in Interpreting Engineering Drawings.
