What would make a bunch of Redbirds douse themselves with icy water? A good cause.

The Illinois State University campus community is taking part in the #IceBucketChallenge in a big way. From Athletics to Admissions to sport clubs, Redbirds are taking part in an Internet craze that’s become a serious fundraiser for the ALS Association.

Haven’t heard of the #IceBucketChallenge? Individuals (or groups) who dump a bucket of icy water on themselves can then challenge others to do the same, or they have to make a contribution to the ALS Association. (Many take the challenge and then donate anyway.)

The results have been impressive: The ALS Association has raised $94.3 million in the past month, compared to just $2.7 million during that period a year ago.

Several people at Illinois State have already taken the #IceBucketChallenge. Check out our favorites below.
