In October the Dean of Students is spotlighting Taofikat Ninalowo, a senior business administration major. Ninalowo is an international student from Nigeria who chose to come to Illinois State because of “the diversity and inclusivity of the school is amazing!”

Ninalowo is currently involved with Up Late at State and is a member of the University Hearing Panel. After learning about registered student organizations (RSOs), she decided she wanted to create her own organization on campus: UNICEF at Illinois State. “The Dean of Students Office helped me learn more step by step,” she said. “They gave great advice on how to get the RSO up and running and they showed me various resources I could use.” She is excited about having UNICEF on campus and thankful for the support she received along the way.

In addition to being involved, Ninalowo has utilized some of the Dean of Students Office support services. Since law school is something she wants to pursue after college, she visited with the Students’ Attorney to hear more about his perspective and experiences as an attorney. Learning more from the Students’ Attorney and about the Dean of Students Office helped her to network, be more confident, and grow even more excited for her future beyond Illinois State.
