Associate Professor of Psychology Jeffrey Karpicke of Purdue University will be the speaker for the Cognitive and Behavioral Sciences Colloquium Series at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, in DeGarmo Hall, room 48.

Karpicke, who will give a talk titled Retrieval-Based Learning: Active Retrieval Promotes Long-Lasting Learning, argues that although retrieval is the key process for understanding and promoting learning, it is not often granted the central role it deserves. His work has been published in numerous journals, such as Science, the Journal of Experimental Psychology and the Journal of Memory and Language.
