Many faculty members work hard each year to incorporate civic engagement and service learning into their teaching. But how does one know their hard work is paying off?

Join Cynthia Edmonds-Cady from the School of Social Work and Dana Karraker from the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology for a discussion showcasing ways to answer that question. Meet with other instructors, share experiences, and get feedback about civic engagement projects you have incorporated into your teaching. Explore the partnerships that people have developed with community partners and insights about that process. Learn about specific assessments that have been developed to track student learning.

This session is for those who have participated in CTLT’s civic engagement course redesign cohorts or anyone who is incorporating civic engagement in their courses.

Civic Engagement: Assessing Student Learning will be from 3–4 p.m. Thursday, October 20, at CTLT’s offices at 301 S. Main Street.  Registration is required.

If you need a special accommodation to fully participate in this event, please contact the CTLT main desk at (309) 438-2542.
