Elizabeth Quinn is the 2014–2015 recipient of the Jennifer Grogg Student Teaching Stipend Award. This award is available through the generosity of Jennifer Grogg, the biology teacher education coordinator and student advisor for Illinois State University from 1999–2005.

Quinn is currently student-teaching honors biology and environmental science classes at Normal Community High School (NCHS). Quinn has found her interactions with students and staff to be wonderful, and her experiences at NCHS have reinforced her decision to teach high school science. She also spends her time creating lesson plans for next semester, when she will be teaching independently every day.

Graduation is on the horizon in May 2015 for Quinn. She will begin applying for teaching jobs in Illinois in February. She would like to teach for a few years before pursuing a master’s degree.
