Two upcoming colloquia from the Department of Physics will cover cold atoms and the physics of football.

Professor Cheng Chin of the University of Chicago’s James Franck Institute and Enrico Fermi Institute will present From Cosmology to Cold Atoms, today at 4 p.m., in Moulton Hall, room 214.

Chin’s research team explores the quantum world at the lowest temperatures scientists can achieve, nearly a billionth of a degree Kelvin above absolute zero.
