Prepare your courses for weather-related campus closures. Join us for a special Brown Bag workshop to help you plan now for bad weather next semester. Plus, discover how to create a website that highlights your professional achievements, and the basics of Select Survey, this week at the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology.

Some of our workshops require registration, so simply select the link in the workshop title and you’ll be taken directly to the appropriate registration page. Workshops are held at our facility at 301 South Main Street unless otherwise noted. If you have questions or need help, you can always email us at CTLT@ilstu.edu

Faculty Website Creation
1:30–2:30 p.m. Monday, November 10

Excel: Level 2
9 a.m.–12 p.m. Wednesday, November 12

This course continues the basics of creating and modifying charts that began in Excel: Level 1. Also explore useful tools like filtering, which make viewing data accessible at a glance, and pivot tables to summarize values.

Select Survey
1:30–2:30 p.m. Thursday, November 13

Get a basic understanding of Select Survey, an online survey and form development tool. You will learn how to quickly and easily create web-based surveys from your web browser. This survey software allows you to easily deploy surveys and view real-time results as responses are received. This workshop is open to faculty, administrators, and staff only.

Brown Bag: Weatherproof Your Course
12–1 p.m. Friday, November 14

The lousy weather (thank you, polar vortex!) left many teachers on campus scrambling to catch up after classes were cancelled. Join us for a brainstorming session on the best ways to be proactive instead of reactive to weather-related closures and maintain momentum in class, even during difficult times. Explore things you can do now to prepare for the new semester in January. A light snack will be provided, but bring your lunch, too. No registration is necessary.

If you need a special accommodation to fully participate in an event, please contact the CTLT main desk at (309) 438-2542.
