As the Illinois State football team heads to Eastern Washington for the FCS quarterfinals this Saturday, watch parties are planned back home and around the country to help support the Redbirds. This is the second time in the last three seasons the two programs have met in the FCS quarterfinals. If you can’t make it to a watch party, the game will be available on ESPN3.com.
The Redbirds defeated Northern Iowa last weekend at Hancock Stadium 41-21 to avenge their only loss of the season. With a win this Saturday, the Redbirds will advance to the FCS semifinals for the first time since 1999.
While the celebration will be taking place closer to campus at various locations in Bloomington-Normal and Chicago, Illinois State alumni are hosting their own watch parties in Dallas/Ft. Worth, Denver, and St. Louis.
There is no cost involved to attend any of the venues, but be sure to arrive before the 3 p.m. (CST) kickoff to ensure you have a spot to watch the Redbirds continue their postseason run.
