Metcalf Scholastic Bowl is set to begin a new season.

Scholastic Bowl is an Illinois Elementary School Association sponsored competition in which students answer questions and solve problems in various fields of study. The Metcalf Scholastic Bowl team is open to students in grades six through eight.

All students on the team must attend at least one practice each week and some of the competitions. Practices will be 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 7:15 to 7:50 a.m. Fridays in 242 Metcalf School with Mr. Basolo and in 235 Metcalf  School with Ms. Kane.

The first practices will be held the week of January 12. Any student interested in being on the team this year should attend at least one of the practices—Tuesday, January 13; Thursday, January 15; or Friday, January 16—of our first week.

There will be a Parent Informational Meeting at 4:15 p.m. January 15 in the school library. Additional information including the activity fee, team T-shirts, and schedule will be discussed.
