Video: What it’s like to be part of Red Alert

The Redbirds are having their best fall sports season in years. They deserve one of the best student sections.

That’s exactly what they have with Red Alert, the two-time defending Naismith MVC Student Section of the Year (2013 and 2014).

Red Alert gives Illinois State home-court and home-field advantage, cheering on the Redbirds and spreading the red. Membership comes with all sorts of perks, including tickets to all regular-season home athletic games for football and men’s basketball, early admission to games, and a free Red Alert T-shirt, among other benefits. The group also participates in many community service and social activities both on and off campus throughout the school year.

Senior public relations major Cindy Kirchner is one of Red Alert’s student leaders—and a Redbird cheerleader. Watch the video above as Cindy explains what it’s like to be part of Red Alert.
