Climate and winds will be the topic of an upcoming talk.

Justin Schoof of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale will present Large Scale Climate Variability and U.S. Winds in Observations and Climate Models at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, in room 133 of the Felmley Hall of Science Annex.

Schoof has served as chair of the Department of Geography and Environmental Resources at SIU. His research interests are climate variability and change, climatological methods and statistical applications in climatology.

With grants from the National Science Foundation, he is studying climate change impacts on regional wind climates. Schoof’s work has been published in scholarly journals such as Climate Research, Journal of Geophysical Research – Atmospheres, and the Journal of Contemporary Water Research and Education.
