Art created and inspired by literary works are currently on display at Milner Library.

The ALL Show: Art + Literature in the Library is on display on Milner’s first and sixth floors. The exhibit runs through Feb. 26, and is free and open to the public.

“The artists, all Illinois State students, faculty and staff, approached the relationship between art and literature in a unique and personal way,” said Jean McDonald of Milner Library. “They pulled inspiration from poetry, novels, religious works and the classics to create paintings, drawings, book art, sculpture and photography.” Artworks have been placed alongside the books that inspired them.

The artists include: Ali Akyuz, Adam Farcus, Gage Blackert, Kelly Bryant, Peter Bushell, Samantha Comerford, Kayla Hueneberg, Andrew Jacobs, Camron Johnson, Cynthia Kukla, Omar Khan, Amanda Miller, Katie O’Shea, Natalie Rudich, Brandon Scribner and Robert Taylor.

The exhibit is curated by Professor Claire Lieberman and Victoria Hartzog, a graduate student in visual culture in the School of Art, in collaboration with Literature and Languages Librarian and Professor Jean MacDonald of Milner Library.
